Lynn's Journey Begins Today!
Wow, seeing this drawing really lets me see how overweight I have become. That is enough incentive to make me do something about it.

My Weight Loss Journey
The Journey Begins….TODAY!
I admit it, I hate exercising!! However I hate being over weight even more, so I am sharing my journey with you as a way of making me take ownership for my over all health.
The photo to the left is me, January 2011. Since then I've refused to take another photo and my weight has gone up 5 pounds or so, and then back down to where it remains today – 167!
I have tried health clubs, exercise classes, walking 5 miles every day, participating in multiple 5K's every year and on and on it goes. I do great for a few weeks and even a few months, but then I just stop going. What I am striving for with this blog is to find a routine that I enjoy, doesn't take a ton of time each day and I see results.
What I have not tried are crash diets. All that does is drop weight while you starve yourself and then once you start eating again, the weight (plus) returns quickly. My workplace offers a MOVE program that teaches you how to eat properly and I have been through the course and I really do eat healthy…..I'm just LAZY!
So where to begin? I will post every Friday (starting 1-20-12) about what I did during the prior week to achieve my goal. I may try a new exercise product and write a review to go with it, especially if I think it is something you would enjoy! Once every 4-weeks I will weigh and re-measure, then post the changes and continue with this routine through the end of 2012. That is my commitment and I expect you to hold me to it.

S2H STEP
(Click Image to Watch) MY REVIEW Yes, I know the health benefit of exercising should be sufficient reward to compensate for the time and effort I must exert to be healthy and physically fit. Unfortunately I, like most people, cannot motivate myself based on that type of reward. I have a competitive nature. If I'm told I can win something by putting out more effort, then I gear up and "fight" to the finish. I like being rewarded, but who is going to reward me for exercising?? S2H, that's who!! Using a pedometer is nothing new. I participate in 5K walks and use these devices to track my progress and build my stamina, but the S2H Step goes beyond tracking my progress, it provides me with a reward code once I've reached 10,000 steps. It seems 10,000 steps (5 miles) is the magical number that medical professionals feel everyone should meet each day. When I received my unit mid summer, I was walking everywhere and exceeded that number easily. Now that winter is here and I hate being out in the cold, it takes me 2 days to reach 10,000. (yes, I know I should be going to the gym and using the treadmill to walk…). So what is the reward and how does it work?
- Once you receive your unit log-into the S2H website, set-up your account and register the unit
- Clip unit to your pants (should be positioned on your waist line, center with leg) and start walking. You will be shocked to see how few steps you take each day
- Once the unit reaches 10,000 steps it will stop recording and present you with a 12-digit code (it will appear as a scroll in 3-letter segments on 4 different screens)
- Write the code down and log-into your S2H account where you will input the code
- You are limited to inputting one-reward code per 24-hour period. Each code is worth 60 points
- Collect your points and when you have enough in your account you can cash them in for gift cards!
- Prizes vary and change frequently. If they don't have anything that you want today, just keep building up your rewards account and wait for that special reward!
What do I think? Personally I LOVE this unit! Not only does it allow me to physically reward myself with gifts, but it is a constant reminder of how little I walk on my "bad" days and encourages me to walk more so I can obtain the rewards code for the day. I find the benefit of saving up to earn prizes very addicting and as a result exercise more. The unit will only record "steps" so it is perfect if you walk, participate in fast paced dance class, use the elliptical machine or climb stairs. It does not sense "steps" when I use it on a bike or the stair stepper (my leg doesn't hit the ground and cause the unit to vibrate which triggers the "step" count) Would I recommend to you? YES. Very easy to use and product quality is good. Order yours today: S2H STEP
